Six Suspected Militants Killed in Intelligence-Based Operation in Mastung, Several Detained

QUETTA/MASTUNG: Security forces have killed six suspected militants and detained several other suspects during an intelligence-based operation in the Khad Kocha area of Balochistan’s Mastung district, according to security sources.

The sources said the operation was launched on the basis of intelligence reports, during which suspected militant hideouts were targeted.

According to the security sources, those detained include alleged facilitators as well as male and female suspected suicide bombers.

The sources further stated that several militant hideouts were destroyed during the operation, while a large cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the area.

A search and clearance operation is continuing, with security forces maintaining a strong presence and close surveillance throughout the area. The sources added that intelligence-based operations in Khad Kocha have been intensified following recent militant attacks in the Mastung region.

According to the security sources, operations will continue until terrorism is eliminated and lasting peace is restored in the area.

The operation follows an announcement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) a day earlier, stating that a total of 10 suspected militants had been killed in separate intelligence-based operations conducted over the previous 48 hours in the Sorab and Mastung districts. The ISPR also said that two suspected female suicide bombers and an alleged facilitator had been arrested during the operation in Mastung.
