Pakistan Collects Over Rs 1.2 Trillion Petroleum Levy in 9 Months

ISLAMABAD: Details of petroleum levy collection during the first nine months of the current fiscal year were presented in the National Assembly, showing significant revenue generated from fuel consumers.
According to official documents, the government collected Rs 1.205 trillion from consumers under petroleum levy during the nine-month period.
The monthly breakdown shows that Rs 137 billion were collected in March, while February recorded Rs 120 billion in petroleum levy revenue. In January, collections stood at Rs 124 billion.
Earlier in the fiscal year, July saw Rs 145 billion collected, followed by Rs 115 billion in August. September’s collection stood at Rs 111 billion, while October recorded Rs 145 billion.
In November, petroleum levy collection reached Rs 151 billion, and in December it stood at Rs 157 billion.
In addition, the government has collected Rs 35 billion under the Climate Support Levy so far, against a total annual target of Rs 51 billion.
Officials say these revenues remain a key source of non-tax income for the federal government, particularly amid efforts to manage fiscal deficits and stabilize public finances.
