One in Four Americans Believe Alleged Assassination Attempt on Trump Was Staged: Survey

WASHINGTON: Nearly one in four Americans believe that the alleged assassination attempt on US President Donald Trump during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner was staged, according to a new survey released by media ratings organization [NewsGuard](https://www.newsguardtech.com/?utm_source=chatgpt.com).

The survey, conducted between April 28 and May 4, found that younger Americans aged 18 to 29 were more likely to believe the attack was fake, while older Americans largely viewed the incident as genuine.

According to the findings, 32 percent of respondents said they were uncertain whether the attack was real or staged.

The report also noted that nearly one-third of Democrats participated in the survey.

Meanwhile, the White House strongly rejected conspiracy theories surrounding the incident, with officials reportedly describing those who believe the attack was staged as “foolish.”

Last month, a shooting incident occurred during a dinner hosted in honor of White House media representatives in Washington while President Trump was present at the event. Trump remained unharmed, while the suspected attacker was arrested at the scene.

The suspect was later charged with attempting to assassinate President Trump.
