Fake Teacher Appointments Scandal Uncovered in KP Education Department via Public Service Commission

Peshawar: A major scandal involving alleged fake recruitment of teachers through the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission (KPPSC) has been uncovered in the provincial Education Department.
According to official documents, the department has initiated a formal inquiry against 436 teachers allegedly appointed during the final year of the Awami National Party (ANP) government in 2012.
Reports suggest that during the preparation of the seniority list of teachers, discrepancies were discovered in the original merit lists provided by the Public Service Commission. Investigations revealed that the original list was allegedly altered, and certain candidates were replaced with other individuals who were subsequently appointed.
Following these findings, the Education Department has suspended promotions of the affected teachers and formed a four-member high-level inquiry committee to investigate the matter in depth.
Sources said that the original candidates included in the PSC recommendation list had been waiting for appointment letters for nearly 14 years, only to later discover that other individuals had been appointed in their place.
Meanwhile, the Public Service Commission, the current provincial Education Minister, and former ANP Education Minister Sardar Hussain Babak have so far not issued any official statement regarding the controversy.
The inquiry is expected to determine responsibility for the alleged manipulation of recruitment records and identify those involved in the irregular appointments.
