Balochistan Government Focuses on Good Governance, Youth Employment and Digital Reforms: Chief Secretary

QUETTA (Web Desk) – Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan has said that the government is taking steps to provide practical opportunities to the youth and address their concerns of frustration through effective governance reforms.
He made these remarks while chairing the monthly Secretaries Committee meeting in Quetta, where key governance, development, and administrative issues were reviewed.
According to officials, the meeting focused on the implementation of the Good Governance Roadmap aimed at improving administrative efficiency, enhancing departmental performance, and ensuring timely delivery of basic services to citizens.
The Chief Secretary stressed the need for regular monitoring of field activities, timely completion of development projects, improved attendance of officers in offices, and better service delivery at the district level.
He also emphasized digitization of government systems, including e-filing and automation, to reduce paperwork and improve transparency in administrative processes. He directed all departments to fully digitize their systems for better efficiency.
During the meeting, updates were shared on public welfare initiatives, ongoing development projects, office attendance of staff, auctioning of old government vehicles, and youth employment initiatives.
The Chief Secretary stated that providing employment opportunities to young people is a top priority, adding that a strong economy is essential to ensure dignified job opportunities for the youth. He said the government is working to transform youth frustration into productive engagement through practical measures and would also take up the matter with the federal government to fill vacant posts under provincial quota.
He further directed departments to prioritize resolution of public complaints registered on the Pakistan Citizen Portal and ensure timely disposal of pending and overdue cases.
Officials informed the meeting that the monitoring and evaluation section had visited around 1,890 development projects, and departments were instructed to submit PC-I documents without delay.
The Chief Secretary also directed that steps be taken to auction government vehicles older than model 2005 to improve resource management.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to strengthen governance, improve service delivery, and create employment opportunities for the youth in Balochistan.
