Information Circulated on Social Media About Sheikh Zayed Hospital Incident is Misleading,” Says Balochistan Health Secretary

Quetta – Balochistan Health Secretary Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Panezai has said that information circulating on social media regarding the incident at Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Hospital in Saryab is misleading and contrary to facts.
In a statement, he said that such irresponsible reporting creates confusion and anxiety among the public. He clarified that as soon as he received reports regarding the transfer of medical equipment, he immediately sought a detailed briefing to verify the facts.
He said that after approval in a high-level meeting, cardiac equipment from Sheikh Zayed Hospital is being temporarily shifted to the Balochistan Institute of Cardiology and Vascular Diseases (BICVD).
According to him, procurement of new and modern medical equipment for BICVD has already been completed, and delivery is expected within the next two to three months. He added that once the new equipment is installed, the existing machinery will be reinstalled at Sheikh Zayed Hospital.
The Health Secretary emphasized that no hospital is being deprived of medical facilities. Instead, resources are being redistributed in a more efficient manner to strengthen multiple healthcare centers and ensure better access to treatment for the public in their respective areas.
He said these steps are aimed at improving healthcare services, saving patients’ time, and ensuring better medical facilities across the province.
Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Panezai further stated that Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Hospital had remained inactive in the past but has now been fully activated due to the government’s focused efforts. He said emergency, gynecology, surgery, and 24-hour medical services are now operational, along with modern diagnostic facilities such as MRI, CT scan, and ultrasound.
Expressing concern over the spread of unverified videos and information on social media, he said such behavior leads to public unrest and misunderstanding. He urged citizens and the media to verify information before sharing it and to highlight positive developments responsibly.
The Health Secretary reaffirmed that the provincial government is committed to improving the healthcare sector and will continue practical measures to ensure modern and quality medical services for the people of Balochistan.
