Flour Prices Surge Across Pakistan, 20kg Bag Rises by Up to Rs200 in a Week

Islamabad: Flour prices have sharply increased across Pakistan, with the cost of a 20kg bag rising by as much as Rs200 within a week, according to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
The report shows that residents of Karachi are paying the highest prices in the country, where a 20kg flour bag has reached up to Rs2,500.
In the past week, prices increased by Rs200 in Hyderabad and Larkana, Rs190 in Sargodha, Rs160 in Sukkur, and Rs133 in Multan. Prices also rose by Rs100 in both Karachi and Khuzdar, Rs90 in Quetta, Rs66 in Gujranwala, Rs67 in Islamabad, and Rs40 in Rawalpindi.
According to the document, Lahore currently has the lowest flour prices in the country, with a 20kg bag available at around Rs1,810.
Other cities reported the following prices: Rs2,450 in Quetta, Rs2,440 in Hyderabad, Rs2,373 in Islamabad, Rs2,350 in Peshawar, and around Rs2,300 in Bannu and Khuzdar. Meanwhile, prices stand at Rs2,347 in Rawalpindi, Rs2,250 in Faisalabad, and Rs2,200 in Sukkur and Larkana.
Further data shows prices at Rs2,133 in Gujranwala, Multan, and Sialkot, Rs2,067 in Bahawalpur, and around Rs2,000 in Sargodha.
