Imran Khan Cannot Be Removed from Politics, Any Conspiracy Unacceptable: Mahmood Khan Achakzai

Lahore: Addressing a Labour Day event at the Lahore Press Club, Mahmood Khan Achakzai strongly condemned what he called attempts to “minus” former Prime Minister Imran Khan from politics, stating that such efforts would not be accepted under any circumstances.
The event was attended by several political leaders including Sardar Salman Akram Raja, Asad Qaiser, Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, and other political and civil society representatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Achakzai said that Imran Khan remains a central political figure and that no power can remove him from the country’s political landscape. He warned party workers to remain alert, alleging that efforts were being made to exclude Khan from the political system.
He said the struggle for change in Pakistan is not possible without ending what he termed an “imperialist exploitative system,” arguing that true transformation requires dismantling inequality and ensuring equal opportunities.
Achakzai emphasized the need for a uniform education system for both rich and poor, stating that children from all social classes should study under the same educational framework. He also called for eliminating disparities between public and private education systems.
Referring to global labour movements, he highlighted the historical struggle of workers for the eight-hour workday and praised the sacrifices of labourers worldwide. He urged workers to organize themselves more effectively and raise their voices for rights.
On broader geopolitical issues, he said Pakistan plays an important role as a regional facilitator and suggested that dialogue under the United Nations, involving major global powers such as Russia, China, the United States, France, and the United Kingdom, is necessary to resolve regional conflicts and prevent escalation.
He stressed that Pakistan’s stability depends on the prosperity of its working classes across all provinces, including Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Achakzai also criticized corruption and inequality, stating that powerful elites control national resources while ordinary labourers struggle for basic survival. He called for a unified legal and constitutional system to ensure equal rights for all citizens.
He concluded by emphasizing the supremacy of the Constitution, real democracy, and parliamentary authority, urging all state institutions, including the judiciary, media, and military, to remain within their constitutional limits.
