Saudi Arabia Launches Special Operation Against Misinformation on Social Media

The Saudi Ministry of Interior has announced a special nationwide operation targeting individuals and groups spreading misleading content on social media platforms.

In an official statement, the ministry said that strict legal action will be taken against those who publish false or misleading material aimed at undermining national unity or disturbing public order and social peace.

The statement further added that the operation will target both local and foreign individuals involved in spreading propaganda or content that could pose a threat to national security through social media channels.

Authorities emphasized that the move is part of ongoing efforts to safeguard societal stability and prevent the misuse of digital platforms for harmful activities.
