Refuses to Step Down from PTI Post Amid Internal Party Tensions

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (Imran Khan) leader Salman Akram Raja has clarified that he is not resigning from his party position, despite earlier statements suggesting otherwise, and said he will continue to perform his duties until he meets the party founder.
According to media reports, Salman Akram Raja stated that maintaining discipline within the party is essential and that he considers the responsibility assigned to him by Imran Khan an honor. He added that he will continue fulfilling his role until he is able to meet the PTI founder in person.
His remarks come amid reports of internal disagreements within the party, including tensions with Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan, who had reportedly raised concerns over party conduct and responsibilities.
Earlier, Salman Akram Raja had expressed frustration over internal criticism and alleged disrespect toward party positions, stating that he was willing to quit his post. However, he later clarified that his resignation was not final and that he remains committed to his responsibilities.
He also emphasized that the role assigned to him by Imran Khan remains a matter of respect for him, and that any formal decision regarding his position should be presented to the party founder during their next meeting.
