Duty Tax Reduced on Over 100 Items Including Mobile Phones, Cars, Dairy Products, and Fruits: Notification Issued

Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued a notification announcing a reduction in duty taxes on over 100 imported items, including milk, yogurt, cheese, mobile phone SIM cards, cars, fruits, and more. The reduction is effective from July 1, following the implementation of the Finance Act 2025.
According to the notification, duties have been lowered on several imported goods. Notably, the duty on cheese and yogurt imports has been reduced, and the regulatory duty on mobile phone SIM cards has been decreased from 15% to 12%. Additionally, the duty on new cars and mini-vans has been reduced by one-third to 10%.
The notification also states that the duty on imported SUVs has been cut by 44%, bringing the duty rate down to 50%. The regulatory duty on poultry and fish has been reduced to 5%, while the duty on bird eggs has been decreased from 15% to 10%.
Other key reductions include a 5% reduction in the duty on pet food for dogs and cats, bringing the rate down to 40%, and a 5% reduction on retail-packed instant coffee.
Furthermore, the duty on tobacco has been reduced by up to 40%, while duties on dates, coconut, Brazilian nuts, and cashews have been lowered to 16%. Duties on figs, pineapples, avocados, guavas, and mangoes have been reduced by 20%, and the duty on papayas and apples has been reduced from 45% to 36%.
The notification also reveals a 4% reduction in the regulatory duty on nuts, and the duty on frozen fish has been halved to 17.5%.
