Lahore: Woman Arrested After Allegedly Killing Her Three Children; Disturbing Motive Revealed

Lahore: A woman arrested on charges of killing her three children in Lahore’s Ichhra area has been handed over to police on a five-day physical remand, officials confirmed on Saturday.
According to police, the suspect allegedly murdered her three young children and later attempted to blame her in-laws for the incident. However, investigators said her version of events was exposed during interrogation.
A video recorded at the crime scene showed the accused appearing calm and composed, claiming that she had felt unwell and had taken a blood pressure drip. She stated that the children were alive when she and others left the house and that she had no knowledge of how the incident occurred.
Police officials said the suspect’s inconsistent statements quickly raised suspicion, leading to her confession during initial questioning. She reportedly admitted that she wanted to divorce her husband, Ramadan, and marry a man named Sharyar from Jhang, with whom she had been in regular contact.
Investigators said call detail records (CDR) and digital evidence also supported the findings. The suspect allegedly used mobile applications to communicate and receive money from the man she intended to marry. She further claimed that her children were the main obstacle in her plan.
During interrogation, the accused also made allegations against her husband, claiming he had encouraged inappropriate phone interactions with other men and was aware of her contact with Sharyar. She further stated that she had also been in contact with a spiritual healer on her husband’s advice.
The accused claimed that marital tensions and lack of support from both her in-laws and her own family left her feeling isolated.
Police spokesperson confirmed that further investigation is underway, and additional facts will be revealed as the inquiry progresses.
In a written order, a local court approved the suspect’s five-day physical remand and directed that interrogation be conducted in the presence of a female police officer at a women’s police station. The court also instructed authorities to complete all legal formalities and submit a progress report on April 29.
