Concerns Raised Over Presence of Male Officials in Girls’ Exam Centers, Parents Demand Action

Quetta: Parents, teachers, and social circles in Quetta have expressed serious concern over the unnecessary and prolonged presence of male officials in female examination centers during the ongoing FA and FSc annual examinations.
According to complaints, some officials from the education board and the education department reportedly remain inside girls’ examination centers for two to three hours under the pretext of inspection, causing mental stress to students and raising concerns about privacy and cultural sensitivities.
Parents said that in such a sensitive environment, ensuring the privacy, dignity, and concentration of female students is essential. They criticized what they described as irresponsible behavior by certain officials, stating that it has raised questions over the credibility of the examination system.
They demanded that clear standard operating procedures (SOPs) be introduced for inspections, and that only female staff should be assigned to girls’ examination centers to avoid discomfort or mistrust among students and parents.
Social and educational activists termed the situation highly regrettable, warning that if immediate action is not taken, it could negatively impact both the educational environment and social values.
Parents and citizens have urged the Chief Minister of Balochistan and the provincial education minister to take immediate notice of the matter, conduct an inquiry against responsible officials, and formulate a comprehensive policy to ensure a safe, respectful, and peaceful examination environment for female students.
