Khawaja Saad Rafique Lauds Iran’s Resilience, Criticizes U.S. Role in Conflict

Senior Pakistan مسلم لیگ (ن) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique has praised Iran’s resistance in the face of sanctions, military strikes, and economic pressure, while strongly criticizing the United States and its allies over their role in the conflict.

In a statement posted on social media, Rafique said that despite strict sanctions, “intense bombardment,” heavy human and financial losses, and a naval blockade, Iran remained firm. He attributed this to what he described as the Iranian nation’s faith, ideological unity, and military preparedness, which he claimed forced adversaries to step back.

He reiterated Iran’s stance that its nuclear program is meant for peaceful purposes rather than the development of nuclear weapons. Referring to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafique stated that the agency has not found evidence of Iran building a nuclear bomb, while accusing U.S. leadership of spreading misleading narratives.

Rafique further said that the United States gained little from the conflict except embarrassment and growing international isolation. He also claimed that no member of NATO supported what he termed a “Zionist-American war,” while Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia, showed restraint and avoided escalation.

Highlighting Pakistan’s position, he said the country, despite its economic challenges, did not align with any major power and instead played an independent and “historic” mediatory role aimed at reducing tensions.

He concluded by asserting that the global community is gradually moving away from what he described as undue influence by major powers, signaling a shift toward a more independent international order.
