Sindh Cabinet Approves Around Rs 500 Million for Rohri Railway Station Upgradation

Karachi: The Sindh Cabinet has approved approximately Rs 500 million in funding for the upgradation of Rohri Railway Station.
According to official sources, the decision was taken after the approval of a bid worth Rs 1.27 billion (Rs 1,277,160,000). The funding arrangement between the Sindh government and Pakistan Railways has been set on a 40:60 cost-sharing formula.
Officials informed the cabinet that Sindh’s 40% share amounts to Rs 497.57 million, following which the cabinet approved a grant-in-aid in favour of Pakistan Railways.
Under the provincial government’s decision, the allocated funds have been handed over to the Secretary of Local Government, while the project will be executed under the Local Government Department.
The upgradation of Rohri Railway Station is expected to be completed during the fiscal year 2025–26.
