Court Grants Three-Day Physical Remand in Case of Alleged Promotion of BLA Narrative

Islamabad: A district and sessions court in Islamabad has granted a three-day physical remand of an accused in a case involving the alleged promotion of the narrative of “Fitna-e-Hindustan” and the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA).

Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah heard the case, during which the investigating officer sought an 11-day physical remand of the accused, identified as Zafar Iqbal.

During the hearing, the investigating officer argued that recovery of the accused’s various social media platforms was required for investigation. He alleged that the accused had spread false propaganda against Pakistan’s state institutions and attempted to incite the public through social media handles.

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has registered a case against the accused and is conducting further investigation.
