Trump Signals Possible Pakistan Venue for Next Round of U.S.-Iran Talks

Islamabad (News Desk) — U.S. President Donald Trump has indicated that the next round of negotiations with Iran could take place in Pakistan within the next two days, signaling renewed diplomatic momentum between the two countries.
In an interview with the New York Post, President Trump said his administration is “inclined” to travel to Pakistan for talks with Iranian officials. He suggested that a U.S. delegation may soon visit Islamabad for the next phase of negotiations.
Explaining the possible choice of venue, Trump praised Pakistan’s leadership, stating that the “field marshal is doing a great job,” and hinted that this was a key reason for considering Islamabad again as the host city.
Trump dismissed the idea of holding talks in other countries, saying there was little reason to choose a location not directly connected to the matter.
Diplomatic activity has intensified in recent days, with Pakistan reportedly playing a mediating role between Washington and Tehran in efforts to ease Middle East tensions. Preparations are underway for a second round of talks between the two sides.
According to a report by CNN, U.S. officials are seriously considering another direct meeting with Iran before the current ceasefire period expires. Senior members of Trump’s cabinet are said to be discussing the agenda and possible venue for a face-to-face meeting with Iranian representatives.
Sources suggest Islamabad remains the most likely venue for the upcoming round, although Oman or another Middle Eastern country is also being considered as an alternative.
Meanwhile, The New York Times reported that during the first round of talks in Islamabad, Iran had offered to suspend uranium enrichment for five years. However, President Trump rejected the proposal, calling it insufficient.
The report added that the United States is demanding Iran halt uranium enrichment entirely for at least 20 years and transfer its existing stockpile of highly enriched uranium خارج the country.
The expected talks could mark a critical step in shaping future relations between the two nations and addressing ongoing regional tensions.
