Government Has Failed in Every Sector, Public Deprived of Basic Facilities: Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal

Quetta: Central General Secretary of Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal has said that the “imposed government” has completely failed in all sectors, leaving the public deprived of basic facilities and facing severe difficulties.

He made these remarks while addressing a joining ceremony organized by the party in Nawan Killi Khiljiabad area of Quetta, where 87 people announced their joining of the party under the leadership of Haji Adam Khan and Muhammad Nabi.

The event was attended by senior party leaders including Deputy Chairman Abdul Rauf Lala and other provincial and district officials, where a new local unit of the party was also formed.

Speaking on the occasion, Ziaratwal said that law and order has deteriorated, with rising incidents of street crime, target killings, theft, drug trafficking, and other criminal activities. He alleged that corruption, commissions, and “mafias” are active in every sector, while the government shows no serious intent to resolve public issues.

He further said that citizens are deprived of clean drinking water, electricity, gas, education, healthcare, and agricultural support, while the communication infrastructure remains in poor condition, causing hardships for farmers and transporters.

Criticizing government policies, he said so-called austerity measures have only increased public suffering, while officials and government representatives fail to follow them.

The leader strongly condemned the recent target killing incident on Quetta’s Western Bypass, expressing solidarity with the Hazara community and demanding the immediate arrest of the perpetrators.

Referring to regional tensions, he said the situation in the country and region is at a critical stage, and urged the United Nations and permanent members of the Security Council to play an active role in ensuring peace between regional countries.

He welcomed new party members and said the party’s politics is aimed at securing rights, ending deprivation, and ensuring a better future for the Pashtun community, which he claimed continues to face discrimination in employment, education, and business opportunities.

Ziaratwal also criticized alleged discriminatory policies against Pashtuns, including harassment in the name of Afghan refugee issues, and demanded equal rights for all communities in the province.

He concluded by stating that accountability of those responsible for depriving Pashtuns of their rights will be ensured by the people in due course.
