Hidayat ur Rehman Baloch Says Democratic Resistance Will Continue Despite Rs 85 Billion Security Spending in Balochistan

Quetta: Emir of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan and Member of the Provincial Assembly Hidayat ur Rehman Baloch has said that democratic resistance and “struggle against oppression” will continue in the province, claiming that despite Rs 85 billion spent on law and order, the public remains insecure.
Addressing a media talk at a “Dawat Campaign” camp near Chaman Phatak in Quetta, he invited political, tribal communities, youth, students, and women to join Jamaat-e-Islami, saying the party represents a movement for change and public service.
He said the people of Balochistan are not safe despite heavy government spending on security, and criticized what he described as restrictive policies and poor governance. He warned that any attempt to use force against the people would be “destructive.”
The event was also addressed by senior party leaders including Maulana Abdul Haq Hashmi, Abdul Naeem Rind, and Akhunzada Ata ur Rehman, along with other party officials and workers.
Speakers highlighted ongoing issues in Balochistan, including prolonged gas load-shedding, rising street crime, water shortages, and challenges in education and healthcare. They said these problems could only be resolved through a fair and people-centered governance system.
Hidayat ur Rehman Baloch said Jamaat-e-Islami has always stood with the public during crises, including natural disasters such as earthquakes and floods, and claimed the party remains committed to grassroots service and rights-based politics.
The leaders concluded by urging citizens, especially youth, to join the party’s campaign for what they described as a “just, accountable, and people-friendly system” across Balochistan.
