JI Welcomes Bilawal Bhutto’s Call for Political Solution to Balochistan’s Issues

Quetta:Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Balochistan, in its provincial statement, welcomed Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s positive and thoughtful remarks on the multi-ethnic province, emphasizing that Balochistan’s problems are not military in nature but political and social, requiring sincere dialogue and solutions.

The statement highlighted that the province’s **geostrategic and cultural importance**, coupled with its rich mineral resources, CPEC routes, and access to Central Asia, is a national asset often overlooked due to narrow and unclear policies. This neglect, it said, has endangered the lives of ordinary citizens and fueled unrest.

JI praised Bilawal’s proposal of seeking **political solutions before the province faces further tragic consequences**, terming it an effective and commendable approach. As a coalition partner in the provincial government led by PPP, JI noted that its legislators—**Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch and Engineer Abdul Majeed Badini**—have consistently advocated realistic, strong, and people-centered positions.

They stressed that the youth of Balochistan must be spared from cycles of death and poverty and instead provided with **education, skills, technology, and opportunities for development**. The statement urged a departure from the mindset of military operations, calling instead for dialogue and the creation of a new socio-political roadmap.

The JI reminded that under Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman’s leadership, it had staged a historic **long march from July 25 to August 5**, despite harsh conditions, which forced authorities into serious negotiations. More recently, on **September 19**, Quetta hosted the province’s largest-ever youth gathering at Ayub Stadium, organized under the “Banu Qabil” initiative and addressed by JI Pakistan chief Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman.

Concluding, JI urged Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti to align provincial policies with Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s vision, ensuring inclusive dialogue and empathetic governance. The party reaffirmed its commitment to extend **intellectual, political, and moral support** to the government and state institutions in steering the province towards peace, prosperity, and justice.
