BNP Rejects Plan to Merge Mastung into Quetta, Condemns Manipulation of Jharlu Election Results

Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta) – The **Balochistan National Party (BNP)** has strongly condemned moves to **merge Mastung district into Quetta**, calling it a blatant attempt to distort the district’s historical, political, and administrative identity. In a statement from the central party leadership, BNP criticized what it described as the government’s **“divide and rule” policy**, emphasizing that Mastung’s historical status will never be compromised.
The party accused the current **Form 47 administration** of systematically attempting to **alter Balochistan’s history** for personal and political gains. BNP also rejected the **division of Dera Bugti district into three parts**, labeling such actions as unacceptable and against the interests of the Baloch people.
Regarding the **2024 Jharlu elections**, the party claimed that efforts to promote **government-favored candidates** were aimed at undermining the rights and interests of Balochistan’s diverse communities, including **Baloch, Pashtun, Hazara, and settlers**. The BNP demanded that the **collective interests of the people** be prioritized over personal or political agendas and that public demands, including those of Mastung and other districts, be fully respected.
