Raheela Durrani Walks Out of Balochistan Assembly Over Speaker’s Attitude

QUETTA – Provincial Education Minister Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani staged a walkout from the Balochistan Assembly during a session in protest against the alleged behavior of the Speaker.

The situation became tense after the education minister was reportedly not allowed to speak during the assembly proceedings. Expressing anger over the matter, Raheela Durrani left the house in protest.

While walking out, she stated that the Speaker of the Balochistan Assembly has “always behaved the same way” toward her. She complained that other members are regularly given the opportunity to speak, while she is repeatedly denied a chance to express her views.

The provincial minister said it was unfortunate that despite being an elected public representative and a cabinet member, she continues to be ignored during assembly proceedings.

Following her walkout, uncertainty briefly prevailed in the session, while some lawmakers also expressed concern over the incident.

According to reports, later efforts were made by fellow members, including female lawmakers, to convince Raheela Durrani to end her protest and return to the assembly session.

Recent sessions of the Balochistan Assembly have witnessed heated debates and exchanges between lawmakers over various political and governmental matters.
