Baloch Traditions Under Threat, Youth Losses Serve No Purpose: Balochistan CM Sarfaraz Bugti

Panjgur (NNI): Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti visited Panjgur on Thursday, inaugurating the historic Shah-o-Qalandar tomb and the Khudabadan Women’s Skill Development Center. He was accompanied by provincial ministers Mir Zahoor Ahmed Baloch and Salim Ahmed Khosa, assembly members Engineer Abdul Majid Badini and Maulana Noorullah, Fisheries Advisor Barkat Rand, Deputy Commissioner Abdul Kabeer Zarkoon, SP Sardar Ayaz Khan, and other senior officials.
During the visit, CM Bugti announced the provision of two green buses and one pink bus for Panjgur, along with a grant of PKR 20 lakh for the Panjgur Press Club. Addressing tribal elders, political and social figures, clerics, heads of government departments, and local representatives, he emphasized the need for collective efforts to steer Balochistan toward real development.
He warned that the Baloch nation is being pushed into a futile conflict, resulting in the unnecessary deaths of 3,000–4,000 youth without any meaningful gain. CM Bugti criticized banned organizations, claiming they, allegedly at India’s behest, are attempting to hinder Balochistan’s progress. He urged parents to guide their children away from dangerous paths and stressed the importance of social education.
CM Bugti highlighted that Balochistan’s youth can secure a bright future through higher education and proper training. He emphasized merit-based recruitment of teachers and government employees to enhance educational and institutional development, asserting that jobs are no longer bought in the province.
Other announcements included establishing an immigration center at the Pak-Iran border to facilitate travel and allocating PKR 6 crore for a processing plant to boost olive production in Panjgur.
