Heavy Rains and Flooding Kill 16, Injure 16 in Balochistan: PDMA

Quetta – Torrential rains and flooding in Balochistan have caused widespread devastation, leaving at least 16 people dead and 16 others injured since March 20, 2026, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).

The PDMA reported that the fatalities include five men and 11 children, with deaths resulting from drowning in floodwaters as well as collapsing roofs and walls. Among the injured are one man, four women, and 11 children.

District-wise data shows that Zhob recorded the highest number of deaths with six, followed by Loralai with three and Kech with two. One fatality each was reported in Qila Abdullah, Duki, Kohlu, Jaffarabad, and Kachhi.

The ongoing rains have also caused significant damage to infrastructure and property across the province. A total of 161 houses have been affected, including 34 that were completely destroyed and 127 that suffered partial damage.

In addition, at least 65 livestock, mostly sheep, have perished due to the severe weather conditions. Authorities said a detailed assessment of losses is still underway as rescue and relief efforts continue.

The situation remains critical in several المناطق (areas), with officials urging residents to take precautionary measures amid ongoing weather threats.
