Balochistan Government, Traders Agree on Energy-Saving Measures; Markets to Close by 8 PM

Quetta: The Balochistan government and representatives of the province’s traders have reached full consensus on implementing energy-saving and austerity measures amid the country’s ongoing energy challenges.
Under the new agreement, markets and bazaars will close by 8 PM, while wedding halls and restaurants will shut by 10 PM.
Speaking at the meeting, Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti described the measures as essential, given the delicate situation in the country and region. He emphasized that proactive steps are needed to prevent potential energy shortfalls following the petroleum crisis, and that work hours must be regulated similar to practices in developed countries.
Traders’ representatives expressed full support for the government’s decision, pledging to adopt these measures in the national interest. The Chief Minister lauded their responsible stance and highlighted the need for the nation to demonstrate awareness and collective discipline to successfully face future challenges.
