Punjab Leads in Public Relief Measures, Says Uzma Bukhari

Lahore: Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari has stated that the province has once again taken the lead among all provinces in providing relief to the public, emphasizing that Punjab will always be at the forefront when it comes to facilitating citizens.
In her statement, she said that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz takes personal satisfaction in delivering relief to the people and has consistently stood by them during difficult times. She added that the provincial government has never left the public alone in times of need.
Bukhari highlighted that the Punjab government has made public transport completely free across the province, winning public appreciation. She noted that citizens will continue to travel free of cost on public transport as long as the current emergency situation persists.
She further said that the government has prioritized farmers, adding that historic measures have been taken over the past two years to support the agricultural sector. According to her, Punjab’s farmers play a key role in supplying food across Pakistan.
Criticizing other provincial governments, Bukhari remarked that those claiming to be the biggest well-wishers of the public on social media remain silent when it comes to providing real relief.
The minister also praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for reducing petrol prices by Rs80 and cutting cabinet salaries instead of burdening the public. She said the savings from austerity measures are being directed toward benefiting ordinary citizens.
