Sugar Prices Continue to Soar in Pakistan for Eighth Consecutive Week

Islamabad: Sugar prices in Pakistan have been on a steady rise, recording an increase for the eighth consecutive week. In just one week, the average price of sugar has risen by Rs. 4.14 per kilogram, reaching an average price of Rs. 145.50 per kilogram nationwide.

The Federal Cabinet had granted permission in October for the export of an additional 500,000 metric tons of sugar, and since the end of November, sugar prices have been steadily climbing. This price hike shows no signs of slowing down.

According to the latest data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the average price of sugar has continued to rise, with the latest figures showing an increase of Rs. 4.14 per kilogram in just the past week.

The ongoing increase in sugar prices is putting a strain on consumers and has raised concerns about the broader impact on the cost of living in the country.
