Pakistan’s Mediation Between US and Iran Draws International Attention, Media Reports Claim

Islamabad: Pakistan’s reported role in easing tensions between United States and Iran has gained international attention, with some media outlets describing it as a significant diplomatic development that could serve as a “wake-up call” for regional rivals, particularly India.
According to a report by a Singapore-based broadcasting outlet, Pakistan’s engagement in facilitating communication between the two countries highlights its emerging diplomatic relevance on the global stage. The report also suggested that heightened narratives in Indian media have contributed to deepening hostility toward Pakistan.
In Washington, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt reportedly acknowledged Pakistan’s role, stating that it had played “incredibly effective mediation” and emphasized the importance of continuing diplomatic efforts through Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s ambassador to Iran stated that Tehran does not fully trust other channels for communication, suggesting that Pakistan remains a key and reliable intermediary for dialogue between the two sides.
The developments come amid broader regional efforts to de-escalate tensions and maintain diplomatic engagement between major global players.
