Donald Trump Claims U.S. Can Open Strait of Hormuz and Seize Oil in Coming Weeks

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) – Former U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that America could reopen the strategic Strait of Hormuz using its military power and seize oil resources, potentially profiting from the move.
Posting on his social media platform Truth Social on Friday, Trump wrote: “In a short time, we can easily open the Strait of Hormuz, take control of the oil, and make a lot of money. Could this become an oil fountain for the entire world?”
Trump’s statement comes amid mounting pressure on his administration to find a swift resolution to the ongoing war with Iran, triggered by joint U.S. and Israeli airstrikes. The conflict has now entered its fifth week. In retaliation, Iran has effectively blocked the Strait of Hormuz, a critical passage through which roughly one-fifth of the world’s oil supply passes.

The closure of this key maritime route has caused global supply disruptions and significantly impacted international financial markets, increasing pressure on Trump to resolve the crisis. Surging global energy prices have made reopening the strait a top priority for world powers.
Trump also reiterated threats to target Iran’s civilian power plants in a Thursday speech but did not provide a clear timeline for ending the conflict. Iran, in response, has promised a strong counteraction to U.S. statements.
