Balochistan CM Sarfraz Bugti Chairs Meeting on Austerity Measures, Political Parties Reach Consensus

Quetta: Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti chaired a high-level consultative meeting on austerity measures, where all parliamentary parties reached a consensus on adopting coordinated steps for economic stability and public relief.
The meeting, held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, included representatives from major political parties such as Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, National Party, Awami National Party, Pakistan Peoples Party, Pakistan Muslim League (N), and Balochistan Awami Party, along with opposition members.
Participants reviewed the current national and global economic situation and discussed بلوچستان’s future strategy. The chief minister emphasized prudent use of petroleum products, reduction of unnecessary expenditures, and protection of public resources.
All parties agreed on the need for timely and effective implementation of austerity measures, particularly to provide relief to low-income segments amid rising inflation. Bugti stated that the consensus reflects collective responsibility and seriousness in addressing economic challenges.
He added that, under the guidance of the federal government, the provincial administration will implement transparent and practical measures aimed at ensuring economic stability and safeguarding the welfare of the عامة public, especially vulnerable communities.
