Deadline Expires, Crackdown on Afghan Refugees Begins in Balochistan

Quetta: Authorities in Balochistan have launched a **province-wide crackdown against all Afghan refugees**—both registered and unregistered—after the deadline for voluntary repatriation expired.

According to the provincial administration, the operation will be carried out jointly by the **administration, police, Levies, and Frontier Corps (FC)**. Officials confirmed that so far, **42,000 Afghan refugees have already been repatriated from Quetta**.

The Home Department reported that Balochistan hosts **304,000 Proof of Registration (PoR) cardholders**, with nearly **50,000 Afghan refugees residing in 10 camps**. To facilitate registration and processing, **four camps have been set up in Chagai** district.

Authorities stressed that a **comprehensive crackdown** will now be conducted across the province, warning that **no leniency will be shown**.
