Original Narcotics Forensic Report Goes Missing in Matiullah Jan Case

Islamabad: The original narcotics forensic report in the case involving journalist Matiullah Jan has reportedly gone missing, according to Islamabad Police.

Police officials formally informed the Anti-Terrorism Court about the development and submitted photocopies of the forensic report in place of the original document.

In the challan submitted to the court, Islamabad Police stated that the forensic report was lost during official correspondence. The report had allegedly returned negative results, which weakens the narcotics charge in the case.

Authorities have requested the court to treat the supplementary challan as part of the official case file.

Further proceedings are expected as the court reviews the submitted documents and the circumstances surrounding the missing report.
