President Asks Government for Annual Performance Report Ahead of Joint Parliament Session

Islamabad:The President’s House has requested a one-year performance report from the government ahead of President Asif Zardari’s address to the joint session of parliament.
According to sources, the President is expected to highlight key points of the government’s performance during the past year in his speech. The address will also include discussions on the results of important economic measures taken by the government.
In addition to the government’s achievements, President Zardari is expected to comment on major regional and international issues, including Kashmir and Palestine.
Sources have also indicated that, considering the anticipated opposition protests, the President’s speech will be brief, lasting around 20 to 25 minutes.
The joint session of parliament is scheduled for March 10, and the President’s speech will mark the beginning of the second parliamentary year. The Speaker of the National Assembly will preside over the session, and governors, chief ministers, and provincial assembly speakers will also be invited to attend the session.
