Islamabad High Court Schedules £190 Million Case Against PTI Founder and Bushra Bibi for March 31 Hearing

Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court has scheduled the high-profile £190 million case against PTI founder and his wife Bushra Bibi for hearing on March 31.
The court’s registrar office has released the cause list, confirming that a division bench comprising Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif will preside over the proceedings.
According to details, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has filed the case and served notices to the defendants’ lawyers, seeking responses. Meanwhile, NAB has raised legal objections regarding the admissibility of suspension requests submitted by the accused.
It is notable that the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi had previously filed petitions in the High Court seeking suspension of sentences awarded by the Accountability Court. The Accountability Court had, on January 17, 2025, handed down convictions in this case, prompting the appeals to the Islamabad High Court.
The upcoming hearing is expected to be closely watched given the political and financial significance of the case.
