Non-Bailable Arrest Warrants Issued for KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi

Islamabad: A district and sessions court in Islamabad has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Sohail Afridi over his failure to appear in a case related to alleged anti-state statements.

The warrants were issued by Senior Civil Judge Abbas Shah during a hearing, after Afridi did not attend the proceedings. The court ordered authorities to ensure his arrest and present him before the court at the next hearing.

According to case details, Afridi has been accused of making misleading allegations against state institutions and damaging their reputation. The case was registered under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency.

The court adjourned further hearing of the case until April 9.

Legal experts suggest that the issuance of non-bailable warrants could escalate political and legal challenges for the chief minister, with the next hearing expected to provide more clarity on the case’s direction.
