Ishaq Dar: Pakistan Downed Indian Jets, Aided Iran Against Israeli Aggression Lahore:

Lahore:Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar stated that Pakistan responded strongly when India initiated conflict, shooting down six Indian fighter jets and neutralizing 80 drones within 36 hours. He added that the Indian aggression was met with a firm and calculated response, earning Pakistan international respect and honor.
Speaking to the media in Lahore, Dar also emphasized Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts in support of Iran against what he called Israeli terrorism. He said that Iran acknowledged Pakistan as a true friend, raising slogans of gratitude in their parliament and waving Pakistani flags at funerals of martyrs.
Dar congratulated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari, Nawaz Sharif, and Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for their leadership and dedication. He shared updates on the ongoing renovation of the historic Data Darbar shrine, revealing that the dome has been raised and special umbrellas, similar to those in Medina, will be installed with Maryam Nawaz’s approval.
On the economic front, Dar announced a $2 billion deal with Azerbaijan, contributing to a significant drop in inflation and interest rates—from 22% to 11%. He expressed optimism that this would lead to economic growth and higher per capita income for Pakistani citizens.
He also highlighted Pakistan’s election to the UN Security Council for a two-year term as a major diplomatic achievement. Dar reassured that Pakistan does not seek war but remains alert due to ongoing threats and terrorist activities, revealing that 30 militants were recently eliminated.
Addressing political alliances, Dar reaffirmed strong cooperation with coalition partner Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), noting that PPP had made no demands and stood by the government during tough times. He emphasized unity among all political parties during the recent conflict with India and dismissed media campaigns he claimed were sponsored and misleading.
Commenting on Pakistan’s economic recovery, he said the country narrowly avoided default and now holds $14 billion in foreign reserves. He noted that Pakistan’s diplomatic engagements with Saudi Arabia have been ongoing for 7–8 months, and progress has been made in easing visa policies, including discussions to extend access for holders of blue passports.
Dar concluded by asserting that Pakistan remains committed to peace, regional stability, and economic progress, but will continue to defend itself resolutely when provoked.
