Court Extends Bushra Bibi’s Interim Bail Till April 9; GHQ Attack Case Hearing Postponed

Rawalpindi: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has extended the interim bail of Bushra Bibi until April 9 in the November 26 protest case.
The hearing was conducted by ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah, during which defense counsel Faisal Malik appeared before the court. The defense requested that Bushra Bibi be included in investigations across all registered cases, arguing that police have not yet involved her in any inquiry.
The court directed authorities to include her in investigations related to 29 cases in the presence of her husband and legal representatives.
Meanwhile, the ATC adjourned proceedings in the GHQ attack case without any progress until April 7. The delay occurred due to the continued failure of the video link system between Adiala Jail and the court, preventing further proceedings. The court has instructed authorities to ensure the system is functional at the next hearing.
During the session, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed and Shireen Mazari appeared before the court, while other accused individuals also marked their attendance. The court was informed that the PTI founding chairman’s attendance was recorded via jail documentation.
So far, statements from 44 out of 119 witnesses have been recorded in the case. According to the defense, the notification regarding the video link trial has been challenged in the High Court, with further developments expected in the upcoming hearing.
