Nation Celebrates 86th Pakistan Day with Simplicity and National Spirit

Islamabad: The nation is celebrating the 86th Pakistan Day today with traditional enthusiasm and patriotic spirit, while observing simplicity in line with austerity measures.
The day began with a 31-gun salute in the federal capital and 21-gun salutes in provincial capitals. Special prayers were offered in mosques across the country for the peace, stability, and prosperity of Pakistan.
Due to the tense situation in the Middle East and ongoing austerity policies, this year’s celebrations are being held in a modest manner. The traditional Pakistan Day parade has been canceled, and the central flag-hoisting ceremony is being conducted in a simple yet dignified way.
A graceful guard-changing ceremony was held at Mazar-e-Iqbal, where a smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Air Force presented a march-past. The Air Force also took over security responsibilities at the mausoleum from the Sutlej Rangers.
Across the country, flag-hoisting ceremonies are being held with simplicity, reflecting the government’s focus on austerity.
Pakistan Day commemorates the adoption of the historic Lahore Resolution and the enforcement of the country’s first constitution on March 23, 1956, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s history.
