Two Injured in Dumper Collision in Karachi; Trailer Crashes into Bank, Driver Killed

Two people, including a woman, were injured after a dumper truck hit them near Johar Morr on Rashid Minhas Road in **Karachi**, while in a separate incident a speeding trailer crashed into a bank building in North Nazimabad, killing the driver.
According to police, the accident on Rashid Minhas Road occurred when a dumper struck two individuals near Johar Morr. A large number of people gathered at the scene and managed to stop the dumper.
**Zubair Nazir Sheikh** said heavy police personnel reached the spot after receiving information about the incident, brought the situation under control and took the driver into custody. The dumper was also shifted to the police station. Authorities said it was not immediately clear whether the injured individuals were motorcyclists or pedestrians.
Officials from the **Edhi Foundation** identified the injured woman as 42-year-old Samreen, who was shifted to a private hospital for medical treatment. The accident caused severe traffic congestion on Rashid Minhas Road, creating difficulties for commuters.
Residents complained that with the last days of **Ramadan** underway and a large number of people visiting markets for **Eid al-Fitr** shopping, heavy vehicles such as dumpers, water tankers and oil tankers moving at high speeds are posing serious risks on city roads. They urged authorities to impose temporary restrictions on heavy vehicles on busy roads and shopping areas to prevent deadly accidents.
In another incident near Kati Pahari in the North Nazimabad area, a speeding trailer lost control and crashed into a private bank building. According to **Shahid Adam**, the accident occurred after the trailer’s brakes failed, causing it to ram into the building.
Rescue officials said the trailer driver died on the spot. He was identified as 21-year-old Muhammad Ahsan, son of Sanaullah. According to the **Edhi Foundation**, the body was shifted to **Abbasi Shaheed Hospital**, while police have launched further investigations into the incident.
