Abdul Qadir Patel Criticizes Kamran Tessori, Calls Governor’s Role Constitutionally Limited

Karachi: Senior leader of Pakistan Peoples Party, Abdul Qadir Patel, criticized Kamran Tessori, saying he neither understood the responsibilities when he became governor nor realized them when leaving the position.

Patel made the remarks while speaking to the media after inaugurating a National Database and Registration Authority center in the Maripur area of Karachi. During the event, the Director General NADRA Sindh, Aamir Ali, briefed him about the services being provided at the newly opened facility.

Addressing journalists, Patel said the governor’s office is one of the most important constitutional posts in a province and its powers and limits are clearly defined in the constitution. He added that when someone fails to respect those limits, such situations arise.

The PPP leader also commented on political developments, saying that after Tessori’s departure, Farooq Sattar has been left politically isolated. He urged the federal government to consider including “Babu Bhai” in a ministerial position.

Patel rejected discussions about the division of Sindh, stating that such debates are inappropriate and only create divisions. He emphasized that people of various ethnicities have lived together peacefully in the region for generations.

He further criticized Muttahida Qaumi Movement for raising the issue of provincial division and allegedly circulating proposals for constitutional amendments in the National Assembly, warning that such rhetoric could fuel unnecessary tensions
