Government Revises Passport Office Timings Under Austerity Measures

Islamabad: The government has announced changes to the working hours of passport offices as part of its austerity policy.

According to private TV reports, the Immigration and Passports Department has issued a new schedule, under which passport offices will now operate four days a week.

The circular states that offices will remain open from Monday to Thursday. It also mentions that 24-hour regional passport offices will continue to operate as usual, and the Islamabad Easy Service Center will maintain its existing shift system.

The new schedule has been issued with the approval of the Director General of Immigration and Passports.

This change is part of broader austerity measures, which also include temporary closures of educational institutions from March 16 to 31, revised working hours in government and private offices, and reduced fuel allowances for government officials.
