A major theft incident has been reported in Karachi despite strict security arrangements during the central procession held to mark the martyrdom day of Ali ibn Abi Talib.

According to reports, unidentified suspects broke into a mobile phone shop, **Sahil Electronics**, located in Dildar Centre in the Saddar area and stole mobile phones and cash worth millions of rupees.

A leader of the Saddar Mobile and Electronics Dealers Association, Minhaj Gulfam, said that around **Rs2 million worth of mobile phones** and **Rs300,000 in cash** were taken from the shop.

Following the incident, the Inspector General of Sindh Police has sought an initial investigation report from the Karachi police chief.

A spokesperson for Sindh Police said the IG has directed authorities to arrest the suspects as soon as possible using modern technology and to form a team of experienced officers to investigate the case.

Police officials stated that the shop owner, Naeem, informed authorities about the incident, but a formal case has not yet been registered.

Investigators also revealed that a similar theft had been reported at the same shop on the day of the procession last year, and police are now gathering information from nearby shopkeepers as part of the investigation.
