Balochistan Launches Electric Bikes Scheme to Provide Affordable and Eco-Friendly Transport

Quetta: The Balochistan government has officially launched an electric bikes scheme aimed at providing affordable, efficient, and environmentally friendly transport for students, working women, and the general public. The initiative was inaugurated by Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, who emphasized that the program seeks to make daily commuting easier and cost-effective.
Speaking at the launch, Chief Minister Bugti stated that the government is committed to offering modern transport facilities and that the electric bikes will be provided on easy installments. The electric bikes will have a range of 70 to 100 kilometers, making them particularly useful for students, professionals, and daily commuters. Bugti highlighted that the scheme will not only offer affordable and reliable transport but also contribute to fuel savings and environmental protection.
He further announced that the government is considering a future phase involving electric loaders to support small businesses and workers, aiming to provide low-cost modern transport solutions to a broader segment of the population.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Mir Liaqat Leghari, provincial ministers, members of the Balochistan Assembly, Shakeel Qadir Khan, and other relevant officials.
