Achakzai Demands Clarity on Imran Khan’s Health, Vows Peaceful Sit-in Outside Parliament

**Islamabad/Quetta:** Head of the Tehreek Tahafuz Aain-e-Pakistan and Chairman of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, has strongly criticized the government and demanded that it remove ambiguity surrounding the health of former prime minister Imran Khan.
Speaking to the media, Achakzai said the movement had decided to stage a peaceful sit-in outside Parliament House following concerns raised about Imran Khan’s health and a report submitted to the Supreme Court of Pakistan. He stated that the protest would continue until Imran Khan is shifted to a panel of specialist doctors or to Al-Shifa International Hospital to address public and international concerns.
Achakzai emphasized that the sit-in would remain completely peaceful, with no violence, abusive language, or stone-pelting. He said the protest is aimed solely at ensuring proper medical treatment and safeguarding Imran Khan’s health.
The veteran politician also alleged that authorities had deprived participants of basic facilities during the sit-in. According to him, some individuals were prevented from entering buildings, restrictions were imposed on food supplies, and access to medicines for sick participants was limited. He noted that women, children, and elderly individuals were also present at the protest, and such restrictions were affecting their fundamental human rights.
Achakzai termed the government’s actions as extreme and undemocratic, stating that even a peaceful protest based on humanitarian concerns was being obstructed. He clarified that the movement is not seeking any concessions but is protesting to protect what he described as the fundamental right to life and health of a citizen.
He urged the government to immediately ensure safe and proper medical care for Imran Khan to remove uncertainty and restore public confidence. Achakzai also appealed to the international community and the people of Pakistan to take notice of what he called actions contrary to democratic principles and humanitarian values.
