Afghanistan Should Not Make the Mistake of Fighting Pakistan, Defeat Would Be Its Fate: Zia Langau

QUETTA: Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langau has warned Afghanistan against engaging in a war with Pakistan, saying that any such confrontation would end in defeat for Afghanistan.
In a statement, Mir Ziaullah Langau said Pakistan was fully prepared to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity and would never compromise on its national security.
He urged Afghanistan to come out of what he described as a misunderstanding and recognize the ground realities, advising it to maintain friendly relations with Pakistan as a good neighbour.
The Balochistan home minister said Afghanistan was under the misconception that it had defeated the Soviet Union and had now become a major power.
He alleged that Afghanistan wanted to confront Pakistan with financial support from India and Israel, but said the Pakistan Army was fully prepared along the country’s borders.
“Pakistan will not compromise on its sovereignty and defence. Anyone who looks at Pakistan with hostile intentions will receive a strong response,” Langau said.
He also urged Afghanistan to spare its own people from the suffering caused by war and focus on promoting good-neighbourly relations instead of escalating tensions in the region.
