India Changes Hotel Ahead of T20 World Cup Final Amid Superstition Concerns

The India national cricket team has reportedly changed its hotel in Ahmedabad ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup final, reportedly due to concerns linked to superstition and past results.

According to Indian media reports, the team decided not to stay at the same hotel where it had lodged during the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. In that match, India suffered a defeat against Australia national cricket team, prompting speculation that the change was made to avoid repeating past misfortune.

Reports also claim that a member of the team’s support staff regularly offers prayers at venues for the team’s success, while the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is providing every possible facility to ensure the team’s performance.

Indian media further reported that before the semifinal in Mumbai, the team delayed its training session by about **45 minutes** to avoid the effects of a lunar eclipse. However, no official confirmation has been given regarding the hotel change.

According to reports, the team also prefers to play the final on a **red-soil pitch** rather than the **black-soil pitch** used two weeks earlier in Ahmedabad, where India lost to the South Africa national cricket team in the Super 8 stage.

The venue in Ahmedabad reportedly offers **red, black, and mixed-soil pitches**, and India’s batting lineup performed well on a red-soil surface during the semifinal in Mumbai.

Some reports also suggest that the Indian team may choose to use the **visitors’ dressing room instead of the home team’s dressing room** in an effort to change the “unlucky” scenario associated with the venue.

The **T20 World Cup final** is scheduled to be played tomorrow in Ahmedabad between the India national cricket team and the New Zealand national cricket team. 🏏
