Pakistan Engaged in Diplomacy to Bring Middle East Conflict Parties to Negotiation Table: Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar stated that Pakistan is actively working to mediate the escalating Middle East conflict and bring the involved parties to the negotiating table.
Briefing the Senate, Ishaq Dar said Pakistan issued its first response to the situation on February 28, followed by statements from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif after the news of Ayatollah Khamenei’s assassination.
He added that Pakistan had previously attempted to resolve issues diplomatically during the June attacks on Iran. Following the recent attacks, Pakistan has been working behind the scenes to de-escalate tensions.
Over the past three days, Pakistan has been in contact with several countries, striving to use diplomatic channels to facilitate dialogue and mutual understanding between the parties involved.
Ishaq Dar mentioned a late-night discussion with the Omani Foreign Minister, emphasizing that Iran is a neighboring and Muslim brotherly country. He noted that the information he shared has not been disclosed to the media.
He assured the public that Pakistan is making every possible effort to support Iran, both publicly and through backdoor diplomacy, and that Iranian leadership is fully aware of and appreciative of Pakistan’s efforts.
