Government, Opposition Initiate Contacts for Dialogue; Mahmood Achakzai Meets Rana Sanaullah

**Islamabad:** Formal contacts between the government and the opposition have begun, with the first high-level meeting taking place between Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Rana Sanaullah at Parliament House.

According to sources, the meeting was held in the Parliament House library, where both leaders held detailed discussions on the current political situation, the opposition alliance’s demands, and a possible framework for negotiations.

Sources said consultations were also held regarding the potential agenda for a meeting between the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Leader of the Opposition. Efforts were reportedly made to build mutual trust, reduce political tensions, and strengthen the effectiveness of parliament as a forum for dialogue.

The meeting also included discussion on matters related to the health, treatment, and facilities of PTI founder Imran Khan. The opposition conveyed its concerns, while the government representative expressed commitment to advancing the negotiation process.

Chief Whip of the National Assembly Tariq Fazal Chaudhry was also present and played a role in bridging positions between the two sides.

Sources indicated that a high-level meeting is expected in the coming days, during which a formal negotiation agenda may be finalized.
