Sixes and Fours Galore as West Indies Post Second-Highest T20 World Cup Score Against Zimbabwe**

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) – In a high-octane Super 8 match of the ICC T20 World Cup at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, West Indies amassed a mammoth total of 254/6 in 20 overs, setting a challenging target of 255 runs for Zimbabwe.

After winning the toss, Zimbabwe opted to field first, a decision that backfired as West Indies’ batsmen unleashed a flurry of boundaries. The innings featured a total of 19 sixes and 16 fours.

Shimron Hetmyer led the charge with a blistering 85 off 34 balls, hitting 7 sixes and 7 fours, marking the fastest fifty for West Indies in T20 World Cup history. Romario Powell contributed 59 runs off 29 balls, while Sherfane Rutherford added 31.

Hetmyer’s half-century also broke his own record; he had previously scored a fifty off 22 balls against Scotland. The overall fastest fifty in T20 International history remains with India’s Yuvraj Singh, who achieved it in just 12 balls against England during the inaugural 2007 T20 World Cup.

From Zimbabwe’s bowling side, Mozarabani and Nagawara each took two wickets, but the West Indies’ batting onslaught proved unstoppable. West Indies’ 254/6 now stands as the second-highest score in T20 World Cup history, just behind Sri Lanka’s 260 against Kenya in the 2007 inaugural tournament.
