Zafran Wazir Released from Taliban Custody, Welcomed by Locals
Peshawar: A video has surfaced showing local residents warmly welcoming Zafran Wazir after his release from Taliban custody, garlanding him with flowers upon his return.
Zafran Wazir had been detained for filming videos of young cricket enthusiast Aina Wazir, whose bowling clips had earlier gone viral on social media.
Prior to his release, a video message was reportedly issued by the Taliban in which Zafran Wazir was seen apologizing. In the video, he allegedly stated that he regretted making videos of Aina Wazir, suggesting that the apology was made under pressure.
It is worth noting that after Aina Wazir’s bowling videos gained international attention and praise, Peshawar Zalmi owner announced her inclusion in the Zalmi Women League, recognizing her talent and potential.
The latest development has sparked renewed discussion on social media, with many expressing relief over Zafran Wazir’s safe return.
